Mr. delaMontaigne, as an FBI agent, investigated organized crime, corruption and drug matters, targeting the highest echelon of the criminal enterprise. His greatest achievements came in the successful prosecution of the entire hierarchy of the New England Organized Crime Family. He has authored several affidavits for court ordered electronic surveillance to include telephone and microphone surveillance, and been the principal undercover agent in two successful long term operations. These investigations were highly sensitive, complex and sophisticated, which attacked the organizations through RICO, money laundering, loan sharking, gambling, extortion and other predicate offenses. He has testified extensively in federal and state courts. He was a member of the SWAT tactical team in three FBI divisions.
Mr. delaMontaigne was promoted to supervisor in 1992 and for eight years was involved the management of the San Diego FBI Field Division. Mr. delaMontaigne supervised numerous international investigations which involved a coordinated effort with law enforcement agencies within the state of California and Mexico. He initiated and implemented an intelligence plan for San Diego & Imperial county which included an annual threat assessment for the U. S. Attorney and the Office of Narcotic and Drug Control Policy, Washington, D.C. For nine months, Mr. delaMontaigne was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the San Diego FBI office. He managed 9 supervisors and 150 special agents and support personnel. He was responsible for all criminal investigations, SWAT operations, training and the security preparations for the Republican National Convention and the NFL Super Bowl. Mr. delaMontaigne was responsible for the administration, budget, procurement, vehicles, financial transactions and covert operation within the FBI. Mr. delaMontaigne retired from the FBI after a successful career in May, 2000.
Since joining Baker Street Group, Mr. delaMontaigne has been an investigator employed by numerous law firms, Fortune 500 companies, National Football League and other investigators nationwide. Mr. delaMontaigne, helped design, implement and supervise the security for the NFL at Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans, La in February 2002. He has performed numerous site or stadium security surveys and been involved with corporate crisis management plans.
